.... in the rump today with steroids.
For some reason, the neck has gotten stiff to the point of not being able to turn it in any direction over the course of a couple of days.

The chiroprctor simply aggrevated the situation worse.

The "Real" Dr. gave me Soma and vicodin to help cope along with the steroid shot and more bed rest than I will be able to handle.

I have a little relief at this point, but had to cancel a house wash scheduled for tomorrow.

This is the first appointment I have ever had to cancel.
The customer was not as compassionate as I would have liked and she threatened me with finding another contractor to do the project.

I apologized for the inconvienience and said I would be glad to reschedule at a time that worked best for her after a week or so.

She still was very rude to me as I combated the pain during the conversation.

I do hope she is able to meet her deadline, unfortunately for her, a 500.00 house wash simply isn't worth the risk of causing more injury to my neck.

I just wish I knew how it happened as I have had no blunt jults or falls or anything I can recollect. Maybe it came on as a result of building my website over the course of a couple of days.

Who knows, but, I truely hope she finds a way in her heart to reschedule with me or at the very least find a contractor on such short notice that is as anal about washing as I am.

God I'm old. Sorry for whining, but somehow this just re-enforces my need and want for a networking group of Houston PW's. I would even be glad to sub myself out for just such a case and give a commission on someone reliable.

But sometime's customers attitudes are just not worth the level of subsurviancy I provide. i truely love to make their place look new again. Can;t buy a good feeling like a happy customer.

Wish me luck on a speedy recovery for a weeks worth of decks next week.

If none of this makes any sense, blame the vicodin and soma.

cya around guys, and be careful out there.:Smiley-2121:

Adrian loves his steroid jet!

Hey, man, I know what it is to have pain. You are right about the network, it would be good to have a safety-net for times like those. You are in our prayers, Adrian. This makes me think...

We all need to have a fall back position in case the unthinkable happens. It is one thing to lose a housewash, what about if we lose a whole season?

The year before I opened StainlessDeal, I was injured by a drunk driver. I didn't work for a year, and then it was the slow grind of opening this business. I exhausted my savings, my retirement, and borrowed/imposed for the rest. While that makes me highly motivated to succeed now, another drunk could be lurking out there.

Let's hear it, folks. Are we all ready to take some time off to heal? How prepared are you?

I carry additional disability insurance, and have saved every cent I can (OK, every cent my wife can:rolleyes:) squeeze away. I'm still not satisfied.

What plans have you in place?

Hey man hope it works itself out. I used to get that a lot, sometimes sleeping wrong. I would also get that real bad and my shoulder would hurt. It was in my spine, as you get older the fluids in your spine degenerate, you lose them to some extent. Can be very painful at times and sometimes for days

I went to the doctor and they sent me to a specialist and they did this treatment. It was a weird looking Xray type machine and they stuck this long needle type thing in my spine area. It hurt just a little and the xray machine they could see what they were doing, with the needle. Its a 3 time thing over a month or so. I only had to go twice and that was about 3-4 years ago. I have not had the same problem since. I didnt like the idea about the needle but I didnt have to go to a hospital and hell it worked great. You might want to ask about it

Best of luck to you...YA it stinks getting old

That is why it is important early on to develop systems so that your business can easily (not necesaraly smoothly) with out you there.

A owner/opt. doesn't own a company he simply owns a job.

Be careful out there guys

Sorry to hear you're out of service for awhile. I think about that situation happening to me and don't know for sure how I would be able to handle it.

Hey Adrian. Hope you get better soon.

When does she need it done? We can give her a call, and try to accomodate her schedule. We'll tell her you sent us, and send you a refferal fee....
