Has anyone seen this on brick before?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is. I have never seen this before and it is totally covering the house. Looks like a mold to me but I'm not sure. Located in northern middle Tennessee if that helps at all.

Looks like some kind of growth to me too. I'd hit it heavy with some 12.5 sh and dawn and let it sit and soak in keeping it wet for awhile. If that stuff is down in the brick like it looks I don't think it will ever be cured and will be a yearly maintinance job. What ever you do don't blast it you'll only make it go deeper and could stain. Mold will grow on anything.
