Vacuboom Question...help!

Cleaning facility w/ no drains. Set up vacuboom (first time used) and went to work. Issues were it did not seem to keep up with the volume and pile of sand under tube. Does the sand/silt build-up affect suction? Any ideas for it handling more water. (We had two guns going) Any "homemade" rigs for this?

I assume you are using the dual motor which will give you the greatest suction. One trick I have used is to weight it down so the boom never lifts up if it gets too much water near it, then eventually it will catch up and will keep its damming effect. The sand should have little to no effect on the suction other than filling up the screen sock on the vac, if it is real fine you may want to pre clean up some of it.
