From the Pres...

John Orr

UAMCC Treasurer
Scott hasn't been able to post, so he asked for this to be posted for him...

Hello pressure washing industry! I want to take a moment to update you all on what is happening with the UAMCC today.
We have a new administrator on our BBS. Russ Spence, a man well-known across the industry as an avid BBS participator, has stepped forward to operate our board, so that it can be the best possible BBS for those who patronize it. There is a great deal of valuable information there, and we feel that Russ is the kind of no-nonsense person needed to keep things operating smoothly.
To assist him in those pursuits, Beth Borrego and John Tornabene have stepped forward to lend their well-known expertise as co-administrators. I know we all thank them for being a positive part of the UAMCC’s efforts to serve the community well.
There will be some changes made as Russ builds a team, and structures the BBS in a manner he sees fit. Let’s all welcome the new team, and remember the services of all those dedicated individuals who have helped in the past, especially Ken Fenner, and Celeste Gothorp who spent a great deal of time and energy on the BBS. These are herculean tasks, and we thank all that have been a part of taking them on.
We have had a good deal of daily interest in the trial memberships offered through the beginning of July, but I’d like to remind anybody interested that there is still time to find a way to participate, we always need active members. If you are interested, email us or call, our information is on the website, or you can call any Director, or committee member to get in touch. The UAMCC is only as active as its members, so get in touch and see how you can be a part of the team.
Currently, the board is in discussions aimed at providing the best possible RFP program and contractor directory we can establish. This involves a lot of comparative shopping and careful consideration, but we are making progress, and will report in more detail when we are nearer to agreements. Right now we have spoken with several lead generation services as we search for one that fits our needs best. We have also had conversations with the technicians needed to integrate a functional directory into our website. Progress is happening, but the technical aspects are daunting, and time-consuming.
We have a couple of changes at the Board of Directors to report: First, Terry Miller has resigned from the board in order to better concentrate on the challenges facing his business. Terry has been a staunch supporter of the UAMCC, a valuable asset, and a good friend. His voice will be missed on conference calls, but he intends to remain an active member. We send our thanks and well-wishes to Terry and his family, their participation has been appreciated.
Next, Trevor Steel has resigned as Secretary. He will remain on the Board, but hasn’t the time necessary to act as Secretary presently. Trevor has a new family to support, and has faced challenges both personal and in business that have made the time commitment untenable. As president, I thank him personally for applying himself so diligently to his duties for as long as he has been able. Trevor has contributed an extraordinary amount of effort to ensuring the success of this organization. The entire Board of Directors is grateful.
We will be striving to fill the empty seats on the Board, and in the committees, but we are focused now on establishing more clear benefits for our members. If you have a desire to see progress in your UAMCC, please contact us, and we will find a way for you to contribute.
Thanks for your time, and stay safe,
Scott Millen, President, UAMCC Board of Directors
I’m proud to be UAMCC!
