We looked at a service station today that is part car wash and part oil change center and it is being completely cleaned up. They want us to powerwash the floors, walls and ceilings as well as the oil change pit under the lube center. For the most part the walls and ceilings are covered with dust, dirt and some oil. The floors are epoxy and don't have any real heavy stains but the biggest burden is going to be the carwash and the oil change pit under the lube center. The GC has assured us that they will clean up any oil and anti-freeze that is on the surface and they just need us to clean everything for the painter. They only plan on painting the walls and ceilings. Our biggest concern was water control down in the oil change pit and they said we could push the water towards the drains because it goes through a triple filtration system that is required by any lube center before it goes on to the sewers.
The walls are painted cinder blocks and the ceilings are also painted concrete. The carwash is unpainted cinder blocks and the floors are all epoxy except for the oil change pit and the carwash. Were planning on using a hot water machine and our housewash mix on the walls and ceilings. Then using a general de-greaser on the epoxy floors and a heavy duty de-greaser in the carwash and oil change pit.
We have never done a job like this and are a little leery about pushing the water down the drain and we don't have our own reclaim. Any advice from someone with experience with this type of work would be highly appreciated. Are we right to be concerned about pushing the waste water down those filtration drains? We located in IL
Thank you for the Help
