Anybody up for a Conference Call with the UAMCC?

The UAMCC will be having a Q & A conference call in February depending on this threads response and YOU are invited.

What are we going to discuss? Well I guess anything that you want to ask relating to the UAMCC.

I receive calls from contractors that have specific questions about the UAMCC. Questions such as:

What are the benefits?
How much is this going to cost?
What are the membership requirements?
Is the UAMCC affiliated with any distributors?
Are the BOD's going to get paid?
Is the UAMCC doing a convention?
What is the proposed budget for 2009?
Is there an Executive Director position for the UAMCC?
What about Proof of Insurance?
Can the UAMCC offer health or life insurance?
Is the PWNA aware of what UAMCC is doing?
Is Delco involved?

All these questions and more have been asked many times over and as the UAMCC prepares to launch I am receiving more and more calls with good questions about the UAMCC almost on a daily basis. Today I spent a good part of the day speaking with contractors like Bruce S. down in Alabama about the UAMCC. Bruce...good chatting with you! Go Navy!

It is fair and expected that questions are out there relating to what the UAMCC is doing and what the Assoc. will be offering the pressure washing industry? Our efforts to keep the UAMCC message consistent and on tract is our purpose today as it was a year ago when I first took over the UAMCC.

Updates on the different BBS's are great and I have relied on them to pass on all the necessary information about the UAMCC onto you. Today, the UAMCC invites you to speak on the call. We want to put a voice to your name and give you an opportunity to get to know us a little bit better. There may have been a update from me in the past that you may not have understood what I meant. Again, the UAMCC TT will go to great lengths, which we have already, to give all in the industry an opportunity to "look under the hood and kick the tires".

Questions such as what are the actual benefits are cannot be disclosed as we want to make that announcement when we launch. I am sure you can understand that but I can speak on that a little if you want.

Please list your questions here and also if you are interested in attending this call please post that you are interested.

P.S. ~ if there is a question here that can be answered right away....we will answer it right here.

Thank you!!

No agenda...pretty informal Doug. Just offering up to anyone that wants to ask questions on a conference call.

I would like to have the questions posted here because the TT may very well be able to answer it on this thread! If clarification to some of the questions need to be addressed....we can do that on the call.

Carlos, I have the same questions as you stated above. Another one that pops to mind is... Is there going to be appointed regional representation(go to guy)If so is it going to be the reagons that are listed in the forum or will it be broken down even more into states or such? ( not sure if my question makes sense).

Another one is along the same lines.... Will UAMCC be tying to improve the industry or represent etc more on a national level or will it dive into the regional also?

Maybe I would understand more if I knew what it is that an org like this can do or what the mission is(it might have been posted but I missed it). Is it more to try to get jobs for its members or more to grow awareness of our industry?

I am having trouble getting my questions from my head down to the typing. I will try again tonight.

Florin, let me throw in a slight bit of clarification.

"Will UAMCC be tying to improve the industry or represent etc more on a national level or will it dive into the regional also?"

The UAMCC is the nationwide umbrella. The "glue" if you will. Regions are very important to the longevity of the organization. We understand that a guy 10 states away will not know the details of what a contractor such as yourself may need in Washington. We'll establish the basic guidelines for each region and from there it falls into the hands of the membership. At this stage of the game we have no idea whom the leaders will be from each region as we have no members. We cannot arbitrarily pick people as we have no pool to pick from. As the organization grows, the regions will splinter into smaller and smaller regions. This will allow local issues to be dealt with more effectively. Leaders will make themselves known and eventually elections will be held on a regional level to put leaders in "office". Funds will be allocated to each region based upon membership numbers. A portion of each membership fee will go back to that person's region. Fundraising ideas, guidelines and bylaws will be given by corporate UAMCC to each region. From there, good regions will excel and become more autonomous. Corporate UAMCC will always be there to provide guidelines but will not micromanage the regions. The timeframe for this to pan out will be determined by how assertive each region becomes.

Florin...no your questions are good and make sense. I am heading out the door right now but I took the liberty of posting the UAMCC Mission Statement below for your reading:

The United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners is a national trade association of the pressure washing industry. The UAMCC's mission is to improve and enhance the pressure washing contractor’s business climate nationwide through promotion and education of the pressure washing industry to the general public act as an advocate for the rights of the pressure washing contractor, and educate the pressure washing contractor with methods to improve their business.

Educating The Public: Through various media of internet promotion, print advertising and email contact the UAMCC will establish presence in the public marketplace. This includes but is not limited to homeowners, property managers, retailers, government offices and small and large businesses. The UAMCC will parlay to the public the importance of hiring qualified contractors. Our website will include tools and articles the general public can use to make educated decisions. With a solid message and unilateral adherence to certain standards; i.e. licensing insurance, OSHA safety protocol, the UAMCC will be able to pre-sell those standards and generate quality leads and RFP's.
Through public campaigns such as Wash With Us™ we will get the pressure washing industry firmly implanted in the minds of the general public as a viable and legitimate industry.

Uniting Contractors Nation Wide
The UAMCC will help individual companies achieve a voice in government as well as with nationwide retailers and corporations. Approaching a store such as Walmart as an individual may prove to be a long and arduous process.. likewise when trying to gain work from national property management companies. As an organization, the UAMCC can approach those companies and get our foot in the door. This can lead to very lucrative commercial contracts that would be exclusive to members. Imagine an organization that would be contacted by FEMA after any type of national disaster.
Many business owners have their hands tied when it comes to regional issues such as drought. With enough members, we will be able to actively participate in assisting local governments in establishing their own guidelines that will not hinder us as company owners. The UAMCC will help you traverse through the environmental laws that impact your business.

Educating the Pressure Washing Business Owner
We understand that every business owner has their own method of performing cleaning. This does not mean certain standards cannot be established. It is our goal to converse with leaders of each pressure washing sector and establish basic guidelines. The transition team has a strong cross section of contractors but we will not limit ourselves to internal discussion. This is a wide open and transparent association. We welcome input from everyone at this stage of development. You can participate in those discussions on our forum.

In addition we will place emphasis on helping you establish your business. Inner industry as well as outside the industry experts will give you guidance in arenas of sales, marketing, administration and business planning.

Networking will be a core function of the UAMCC. Members will have the opportunity to attend round tables, seminars and conventions that will allow you to begin immediately making more money the day after you attend.
