Does anybody have any advice for cleaning a dock on the Lynnhaven River/Chesapeake Bay? The dock is 200+ feet in length with a boat lift and enclosure on it. This seems like it could be a pretty lucrative business in my area because of the high income/quantity of docks. I also know that there could be a lot of unneeded scrutiny because of the wild life, specifically oyster and crab populations in decline.
My questions are as follows:
I know pictures help. I will get some tomorrow for reference.
I appreciate the input. This is my first post so please let me know if I need to change or do anything.
My questions are as follows:
- Does anybody have any advice on how to clean a dock safely and "environmentally friendly"? I'm guessing bleach isn't too good for the bay and high pressure can strip of PT wood which also is not a good thing.
- Is water reclamation a possibility and if so, how?
- Once the dock is cleaned, do you normally suggest sanding or staining? I'm not a person to upsell extra things that aren't that needed and I'm not too fond of staining.
- I normally price jobs per hour. Does this work seem to coincide with pricing for a roof, house, flat work, or something like that? Maybe a cedar home would be similar.
