We got flooded this week very badly. Had like 6 feet of water over the local collage campus even. About 3 feet inside. Loaded up and drove over there this morning to try to troll up some work and what did I find....Hmmm... two fire trucks and about 10 more city street workers with all of their equipment washing down the tennis courts and common areas. Yea the city is using tax payer people and equipment to take my business. I can see maybe the roadways and common entrances to facilitate getting things open to get things going but I sat there and watched them for two hours doing the tennis courts. I called the facility maintenance super to see how I could get in on some work and never got a call back.
Am I wrong to think or believe they should be using local Mobile cleaner contractors to do the clean up work. Or at least involve us. The collage isn't city property whatsoever....I have a nice add in the book right up top and never got a call....They aren't but about 3 of us in the book so we all should have been offered a bid you think?...I'm sure insurance will be involved so what gives? I'm beside myself over this...I did notify local media and they acted like it wasn't a story. Could not comprehend that city workers shouldn't be competing with contractors for work much less taking it without notice ukey:
This is the road going to the collage about a half a mile away. The shallow end I might add.
