Dog Attack

Dont feel bad for the homeowner and dont let your emotions take control of the situation.Their is to many stupid people in the world with bad dogs and no responsiblity. At least a couple of times a year a child gets killed by a dog in central florida. Dog bites are serious business and nerve damage is worse. I cut the nerves under my big toe when I was 13 and to this day if I hit my foot in the right place I go down for a couple minutes with tears in my eyes. Protect yourself and family from any problems down the road. contact a good lawyer.

I agree Greg.....I just read the other day that somewhere in Fl a "pet" python escaped its cage and managed to kill a 2 year old! So sad.

Just saw on the news this guy didn't have the permits to have that kind of a snake nor were there a lock on the cage which by the way wasn't the correct one either. Lost his two yr old daughter...Just heard the 911 tape and it's hard to listen too, he knew the child was dead when he called. Terrible.
Ive put in a call to an Attorney by the way. Just figured out these antibiotic pills alone were 3.00 a piece,,,Geeez....

Duck, Sorry about what happened. I would be freaking out and want revenge. Spot takes a bite out of me and I want him dead. The Homeowner was totally irresponsible by letting to dog loose. Ken has given you some good advise. Get a Lawyer and don't communicate with the homeowner directly any further. He has a dangerous animal and needs to take full responsibility for its action. And the Animal control has given you some good advice. The next incident of " he doesn't bite " might be some one who cant defend themselves like you did.

+1 Stupid owners create dangerous animals.

What if it next time it's a kid going door to door selling candy bars for little league or girl scout cookies?

The h/o is a jerk and unfortunately you and the dog have to pay the price.

Lawyer up now. I was taken off my Harley by a reckless goof in a car. I tried to be reasonable. He admitted guilt and so did his insurance company. It will be 2 years July 19th and they haven't paid one cent that was already paid by my insurance company. I waited for a year to hire a good lawyer. I may still need surgery to fix my back. Don't wait. I'm the last person to resort to a lawyer but it's all they understand.

Price wise in this day and time, you got off cheap. I thought it would be more than that. ER costs some bucks, because thats where millions of uninsured people go and never pay the bill.

Did you have any nerve damage, have you seen a specialist

I haven't seen anyone but the ER doc who cleaned it up. Thats all they did I just took the meds and let it heal....I think I'm ok,,,I didn't see specialist or anything just basic care by the ER. Thats why I was so shocked...I mean the dude charged me 1700.00 to take some hemo's and wrap some gauze around the tip and shove it down to the bone and twist it around a few times.
Heres the bill:
AMOX 875MG 1 TAB----------33.13
LIDOCAINE-------------------15.00
TETANUS-------------------191.93
TETANUS ADMIN-------------57.50
FOREARM x ray----------------291.50
ER FACILITY FEE-------------353.50
EXP PENETRATING WOUND---1700.00

Some one also said there may be x ray "reading" charge later...
