Eric already commented but I gotta put in my .02
A cruise to the Caribbean would be awesome! Unfortunately I agree that attendance might not be as great. A passport would be an added expense to some people. On the flip side, it would be a mini tropical vacation, and that is enticing!
I REALLY loved Florida, especially during October. The weather was absolutely wonderful. The World Marriott was exquisite, but if they are not willing to cut us a deal then maybe we could find another hotel in Orlando that would.
New Orleans is a thumbs down for me. Good for smaller gatherings maybe, but not for THE convention. Also not really my idea of a family oriented town. After Convention 1, we decided that our son would accompany us to the rest! He had a blast.

Nashville.... I24, I65 and I40 all converge here. Southwest flies here and most hotels have shuttles from the airport. Plus it is close to me.... LOL You could swing a paddle boat cruise for some dinners or get togethers aboard the general jackson. Lots of different possibilities. I like the idea of moving it around the country. 12 hour drive from dallas, tampa, travers city. I know I have driven them.
One year we need to do King Salmon, AK during the salmon run.... LOL
Since we are international we could do the following year in Costa Rica for zip lines in the jungle and marlin fishing. LOL Better get bigger ropes.
I like Louisville also.... Centrally located and most everything in KY is not that expensive (unless you want me to wash your house!). Casino 20 minutes away. I65, I64, I71 all intersect there. Lots to do for night life in the immediate downtown area. Depending on time of year, Kentucky Kingdom (six flags park) will be open.
Take a hard look at Louisville(17th largest city in US). Lexington won't be good for 2010 as we are hosting the WORLD Equestrian games and you won't be able to find a venue. It is the first time these games have EVER been hosted in the USA.

I like the idea of somewhere in the northeast. This is where the lion's share of the UAMCC contractors are. This would allow for more feet on the ground during the planning stages and have more available to pitch in. There are great venue's here and always something to do in the areas outside of the hotel.....just my $0.02, Mike.
