This is selling for $600 new. My friend asked me if its a good deal. I told him it seems ok (model dpd3800) for a direct drive but i couldn't find any reviews he will be using it to clean his house......any thoughts?

Those kind of units usually have the unloader built into the pump and are expensive to repair. They are also made cheaply so they need repair very often. For a homeowner that will use it a few times a year it is okay. For a pro, no way.

I would be surprised if it was actually 4 gpm, more likely 3.5. If it is 4, I would buy it in a heartbeat! As a back-up machine, this one would be fine. I would be shocked if they are selling it new for $600 though, since the pump doesn't cost much less than that!

Its only a good deal if it works for what your friend intends to do with it. Or how many houses he wants to wash. Ive seen those units and they are Happy Homeowner units. Good luck. If your friend intends to start a bussiness washing houses he should do a little research first before and invest in some good equipment.

Yeh, its normally $1000 and he is a one house(his) + pick-up truck user so thats why i thought he should pull the trigger on it.

Thanks for the input everyone!

They arent bad machines i have 2 of them and use them as backups only. The real benefit to using them is that they are very light compared to most commercial units if you are lugging the machine around with you..GPM is around 3.5 not a full 4.0 like it is adv. when one of my macjhines went down this machine was used for over a month straight 6 days a week 8-10 hours a day and it held up perfectly. No problems whatsoever they cost 1000 each in ny home depot but when season is over (after oct) they lower the price and you can get for 600.
