Keeping our waters Clean - Rain Gardens and other retention

Tony Shelton

Environmental Consultant / Past Director
Cities are now building retention and detention structures to reduce pollution.

I had a valid question this weekend asking "What happens to the pollution once it is captured in the structure?"

I had always been told that nature takes care of it. So When I got home I set out to find some evidence of that.

This is the best and most concise info I could find.

Basically plants use it to grow.

It is a beautiful thing.
