Ladder question

Hello to all, first post. I would like to know what is used on extension ladder bottoms when working with hard wood floors, or tile floors. I did the interior windows that were 24' up and the floor was hard wood. No damage done to the floors, just looking for a faster way to safely move, install the ladder without worrying about the floor. I thought about a drop cloth but was concerned about slipping from the bottom of the ladder. Dumb question, should have taken the ladder course in orlando.
