We are looking at purchasing a new trailer. My question is this: Treated lumber or Diamond Plate for the deck? What's your opinion?

Diamond Plate all the way, stay away from Wood

Rance, Michael Kreisle used Trex Decking for a Flat bad he bought. You should check with him and see how it is holding up. May be a great cost alternative.

Diamond plate, wood is too soft for long term use and Trex has no structural strength to it, I would never trust it supporting any equipment. If you are concerned about corrosion you can get aluminum or coat the trailer with a bed liner material.

I used Herculiner on my 2 wheel trailer (no load - just sits in the yard) about 2 years ago. I'm not happy with the way it is chipping off, and the only thing it could be is the weather. I hardly use the trailer. Moved a washer and dryer 150 miles last year, and that was the only time since the application.
