Press Release
August 19, 2013 - The United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners (UAMCC) has announced the addition of two new board members, Tony Shelton of Sonitx, Las Vegas, and Igor Zaric of Dirt Fighter, San Diego Pressure Washing. Both new directors were appointed by the current Board of Directors (BOD) after three board members - Guy Blackmon, Rob Carey, and Blain Krugerud - stepped down from their elected positions. Additionally, Chris Apple of Arkansas ProWash was moved into the role of Secretary of the BOD.
Shelton, who ran for the BOD in the 2012 election, was next in line in the number of votes received. "I decided to get involved with the UAMCC to help contractors get more business, clean more surfaces, and to paint a more accurate picture of what our industry is all about," he explained.
As a Board member, Shelton adds that he hopes to accomplish "the same goals" he was working on as a member:
1. Helping more accurately define the industry to the public.
2. Establish local resources for contractors to understand laws and interact with regulators
3. Promote practicable regulations.
4. Help train contractors in consistent and efficient methods that keep prices for customers within an acceptable range while maximizing profits.
Zaric, who has been in the industry for about 2.5 years, said he wanted to be involved with the Board in order to give back to a group that has helped him grow his business quickly. "In a short period of time I was able to listen, learn and get an incredible amount of help and unlimited support from industry veterans."
As a Board member, Zaric says he hopes to be able to help establish new programs "that will help industry members take their businesses to the next level."
